Showtime Releases Trailer for 'The Affair' Season 2

Showtime has debuted its first trailer for the upcoming second season of The Affair, their hit drama set and filmed in Montauk. The trailer showcases the main cast—Ruth Wilson (Luther), Dominic West (The Wire), Maura Tierney (ER) and Joshua Jackson (Fringe)—in some intense situations and reminds audiences of the big question: Who killed Scotty Lockhart?
While the Golden Globe-winning first season of The Affair told the tale of a steamy romance between married Montauk “summer person” Noah Solloway (West) and married local Alison Bailey (Wilson), and the murder mystery that followed, from both of their very different perspectives—Season 2 will also be shown through the eyes of their spouses, Helen Solloway (Tierney) and Cole Lockhart (Jackson).
The murder still hasn’t been solved as Season 2 begins, and it appears Noah and Alison have left their respective spouses and decided to make a go of it together. But the couple is clearly having to bear the consequences of their infidelity.
Watch the captivating, atmospheric trailer below, and check DansPapers.com for weekly recaps once The Affair returns to Showtime this fall, premiering October 4.
