What goes on behind the walls of a home is just as important, if not more important, than all the work that goes into what’s between those walls. Regular plumbing inspections are an important part of maintaining a home and avoiding costly future expenses. Whether you haven’t been in your East End home since last summer or you’ve been running water all year long, it’s important to know a good plumber and avoid the type of problem that could quickly ruin a dinner party. No one wants an overflowing toilet flooding the newly renovated bathroom. Here at Dan’s Papers we’ve assembled the Dan’s Best of the Best plumbers on the North and South forks, as voted on by Dan’s Papers readers.

William Knoernschild Plumbing & Heating (Cutchogue, 631-734-4282) is the North Fork’s platinum plumber. Knoernschild has been a consistent Best of the Best honoree for several years for his reliable service.

The North Fork’s gold winner is GLP Group Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. (15 Frowein Road, Center Moriches, 631-846-1513). The company specializes in everything from boiler installation to design and construction of full scale residential and commercial facilities. GLP also does basement bathrooms, central air conditioning, custom bathrooms, gas piping, geothermal units, indirect water heaters, among a number of other services.

Van Etten Plumbing & Heating (622 2nd Street, Greenport, 631-477-0697) is the North Fork’s silver plumbing service. Van Etten’s master plumbers perform repairs, renovations and new construction.

Rounding out the top plumbers as voted on by North Forkers is bronze honoree J.P. Mulvey Plumbing & Heating (164 East Montauk Highway, Suite 1, Hampton Bays, 631-283-2234). J.P. Mulvey is also the bronze winner for the South Fork. The family-owned and -operated company has been serving the East End since 1967 with a long list of services including repairs and alterations, sewer and drain service, back flow prevention, and 24-hour emergency service.

There are a number of top notch South Fork plumbing companies.

Platinum winning Ken Massa Plumbing & Heating (2 Commercial Park Road, Quogue, 631-653-4513) works on heating and air conditioning, plumbing, water treatment, radiant heat, oil to gas heat conversion, new construction and renovations. Massa is a master plumber with 25 years of experience. His company also provides 24-hour emergency service.

The South Fork’s gold winning plumbing service is Warhawk Plumbing & Heating (399 Glen Drive, Shirley, 631-504-6203). The company provides plumbing, water filtration and purification, and heating services.

Excelsior Plumbing & Heating (1319 Speonk Riverhead Road, Speonk, 631-288-8383 and 318 Old Riverhead Road, Westhampton Beach, 631-288-3456) started as a “one man, one truck,” shop according to the company’s website, and has grown into a team of personnel and a fleet of trucks, not to mention becoming the South Fork’s silver award winner for Dan’s Best of the Best. Excelsior provides new construction services for water lines and water filtration, gas heating including heating for outdoor appliances like pools, fireplaces and firepits, along with service and maintenance.
