5th Annual Southampton Septemberfest to Be Held September 25–27
Southampton Septemberfest weekend is coming up starting Friday, September 25, at various sites around Southampton Village as residents and visitors alike celebrate fall’s arrival on the East End.
The fun Southampton kicks off with a cocktail party in Agawam Park sponsored by Southampton Rotary Club. County Line Band will perform its mix of modern country, crossover country and Southern rock. The party will also feature the music of Beau Hulse, dancing, local wine, craft beer and food provided by local gourmet food trucks. Proceeds from the cocktail party will benefit the Southampton Rotary’s Scholarship and Endowment Fund. The Friday night party will begin at 6:30 p.m. and beer and wine will be complimentary until 8 p.m. and then a cash bar is offered until 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 at the door. A variety of activities will be held Saturday, September 26, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and food and art vendors will be stationed in Agawam Park.
A farmers market will be open on the grounds of Southampton Arts Center at 25 Jobs Lane on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Concerts in Agawam Park with Hopefully Forgiven, Black & Sparrow, The Lynn Blue Band, Dan Bailey & Tribe and The Next Level Band will run Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Also Saturday, face painting, airbrush tattoos, pumpkin decorating and more will be offered for kids from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jester Jim will put on juggling, beatbox and comedy shows at noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Cast votes in the chowder contest from noon to 2 p.m. in Agawam Park. The Maniac Pumpkin Carvers will carve live from noon to 5 p.m.
Southampton Historical Museum will hold its annual Harvest Day Fair on Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rogers Mansion recreating life in the 19th century with demonstrations and activities for the whole family.
Agawam Ferry rides will be offered both Saturday and Sunday, and Well Fargo will offer stage coach rides on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Between noon and 5 p.m. Saturday, street performers spread throughout downtown Southampton Village will include musical acts Eastbound Freight, Jim Turner, Mick Hargreaves and Cassandra House and roaming stilt walkers, jugglers and more.
