The Best Places to Pick Pumpkins on the North Fork of Long Island

Whether you are looking for Halloween decorations or ingredients for your pumpkin pie recipe, the North Fork pumpkin patches are the place to be. Check out the best places to pick pumpkins in Riverhead and Southold towns and view a map of these destinations below.

Stakey’s Pumpkin Farm, 270 West Lane, Aquebogue, is a family-owned and -operated business with 26 acres of pumpkins, including 18 varieties. Among the additional attractions are hay rides, a corn maze, a kids’ corner, a country store, a flower house and a snack shack.Hours are Monday through Friday noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 631-722-3467 or visit stakeyspumpkinfarm.com.

Gabrielsen’s Country Farm, 1299 Main Road (Route 25), Jamesport, offers sweet corn, strawberries, vegetables, pumpkins and more. Through October 31, take part in a corn maze, hay rides, pumpkin patch and restoration village. Call 631-722-3259 or visit gabrielsenscountryfarm.com.

Harbes Family Farm & Vineyard, 715 Sound Avenue, Mattituck, is famous for their roasted super-sweet corn, a farm market full of fruits, vegetables, pies and homemade goods as well as a wine tasting bar, an interactive Barnyard Adventure, pick-your-own pumpkin patch, corn mazes and hayrides. Krupski Farms, 38030 Route 25, Peconic, has a fresh produce farmstand, pick-your-own pumpkins and a corn maze. Between pumpkins and squash, Krupski offers more than 30 varieties. Pumpkins are available seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Thanksgiving. Call 631-734-7841.

Lewin Farms, 812 Sound Avenue, Wading River, has pick-your-own apples on their 1,100 acre family-owned and -operated farm. Aside from picking your own apples and pumpkins, you can pick your own peppers and eggplants and cut your own Christmas trees beginning the day after Thanksgiving. Call 631-929-4327

Rottkamp’s Fox Hollow Farm, 2287 Sound Avenue, Calverton, has 5 acres of U-pick pumpkins. Have fun in their family-friendly corn maze and then nosh on some roasted corn at the farmstand. Call ahead to 631-727-1786.

W. Zilnicki Pumpkins, Sound Avenue, Riverhead, has pick-your-own pumpkins and a corn maze. Call 631-727-0408.

Windy Acre Farm, 3810 Middle Country Road, Calverton, has pumpkin picking every October from “Jumbo” to “Jack Be Littles.” Call 631-727-4554 or visit thefarmersweb.com/windyacresfarms.html.
