Find Hamptons, North Fork Farmers Markets and Farmstands

What’s in season on the East End? Tomatoes, raspberries, peppers, eggplant, greens, herbs, mushrooms, onions, beets, fennel, melons, brocolli, edamame, peaches, beans, leeks, potatoes and carrots. Plus those local staples: cheese, eggs, meat and loads of seafood. And don’t forget the apples and pumpkins!

Where do you gather such splendiferous wonders? I grow my own herbs and onions and I make regular stops at Dale & Bette’s Farmstand on the Bridgehampton Turnpike for eggs and veggies. I get a lot of my greens from Marilee Foster’s stand in Sagaponack. I also load up on various goodies at Country Gardens on Scuttlehole Road in Water Mill and I get my Mecox Bay Dairy cheeses from my local Sag Harbor shops.

Is there an easier way to drink in the bounty? Yes! Eight of our East End farmers markets are now open for business. You can get all of your local food needs satisfied in one stop—including…drum roll, please…delish local wines. Check out the list for your nearest farmers market and be sure to take all of your used shopping bags, egg cartons and canning jars along—recycling begins on the farm. I’ll see you out there!
