Stony Brook Southampton will light the campus’ historic windmill for the holidays on Friday, December 4, and the whole Southampton community is invited to witness the lighting and enjoy a reception at Chancellors Hall.
Seasonal refreshments will be catered by the Amagansett Food Institute. The Southampton High School Crass Quartet will perform, Mr. Twisty will make balloon animals and children will have the chance to make crafts.
The lighting and ceremony will be held between 5 and 7 p.m. Admission is free.
Following the reception, Stony Brook University’s School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences’ (SoMAS) Ph.D. student Amber Stubler, who has researched sponges and seagrasses, will host a discussion regarding how ocean acidification is reshaping coral reefs.
