Jerry Seinfeld Announces Residency at Beacon Theatre

East Hampton’s Jerry Seinfeld will begin a residency at Beacon Theatre on January 7, performing there once a month indefinitely.
Seinfeld is taking a page out of Sag Harbor resident Billy Joel‘s book—the Piano man has a similar residency at Madison Square Garden that has now gone on for two years. Seinfeld’s home in East Hampton previously belonged to Joel.
Seinfeld spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the monthly engagement, saying “I bought Billy Joel’s house about 15 years ago. I thought, as long as I have his house, why don’t I steal his whole career?”
Seinfeld’s monthly show is titled Jerry Seinfeld: The Homestand.
“My favorite theater in New York to perform in has always been The Beacon,” Seinfeld says. “Comedians live for certain houses that just feel ‘alive’ for some reason. The Beacon is that place for me and I am so excited to make it my new home.”
Tickets go on sale Monday, December 7, at 10 a.m. for shows on January 7, February 18, March 2, April 14, May 5 and June 8.
