Transviolet – 'In the Hamptons' Music Video

Los Angeles-based four-piece band Transviolet is getting a lot of attention these days, especially since releasing their second EP, Kaleidoscopes, on June 30. The group’s new single, “In the Hamptons,” offers a look at how the emerging West Coast pop stars—and probably a lot of other people—view our little part of the world. Watch the video, directed by Ben Fee, to see a bunch of really gross food, a bit of croquet action, and lead singer Sarah McTaggart delivering some rather scathing lyrics about the young, rich and vapid.
A group of legit musicians and songwriters poised at the edge of pop superstardom, Transviolet has received high praise from some notable folks, including Hamptons visitor Katy Perry and former One Direction member Harry Styles. Just last week, the band performed “In the Hamptons” on the Today show in Manhattan. Along with McTaggart, the quartet includes Judah McCarthy, Michael Panek and Jon Garciao. Expect to hear a lot more about Transviolet over the next year—they could very well be the next big thing, and they’ve already made the Hamptons part of their story.
