Rogers Memorial Library

Andrew Bedini, owner of Java Nation, will talk on Wednesday, January 8, at 10:30 AM at the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton about different kinds of coffee and how to brew the perfect cup.

Marcia Tumpowsky, Kripalu yoga educator, will teach an hour-long meditation class program on Thursday, January 9, at 11:30 AM.

“Move and Restore” yoga class is with Michelle Beebee on Saturday, January 11, at 10:30 AM. The fee is $10.

Famed pianist Konstantin Soukhovetski will offer a concert on Sunday, January 12, at 3 PM. Soukhovetski is returning to perform several of his world-renowned opera arrangements.

Bob DeStefano of the Shelter Island Reporter will host a trivia night, “Battle of the Brains,” on Monday, January 13, at 5:30 PM. Bring a team or come alone. Pizza and snacks will be served.

Looking to reinvent yourself in 2020? Author Deborah Burns will talk on Tuesday, January 14, at 10:15 AM on “Skirting the Rules.” The fee is $10.

Southampton Cultural Center

“A Delicate Balance” theater package is being offered on Friday, January 10, at 5 PM. Dinner will be held at the Plaza Café in Southampton followed by a performance at Southampton Cultural Center.

A presidential humor lecture will be held on Tuesday, January 14, from 1 to 2:30 PM. Napeague Walk

Enjoy walking a new beautiful trail through the site of the former Smith Meal Fish Factory at Napeague State Park on Saturday, January 11, with the East Hampton Trails Preservation Society.

Help Clean The Beach

Did you know it takes 450 years for a plastic bottle to break down in the ocean? Every day, thousands of tons of waste and trash are dumped into oceans worldwide. Help the South Fork Natural History Museum environmental educators clean up the beach. Be part of the solution and join the SOFO crew on Saturday, January 11, at 3 PM. Horticultural Alliance

The Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons will host “The Designer’s Way: Creating Gardens (and Lives) of Beauty and Meaning” on Sunday, January 12 at 2 PM. The talk with presenter Julie Moir Messervy will be held at the Bridgehampton Community House. Admission is $10 to attend; free for HAH members.

Charity Drive

The Baker House 1650 and the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual holiday party and charity drive on Wednesday, January 15, from 5 to 7 PM at the inn. Please bring non-perishable canned items that will be donated to local food pantries. Complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres and wine will be available. Westhampton Free Library

Business Networking Club invites adults to participate in this new club, which will meet at the Westhampton Free Library on Wednesday, January 15, and again on Wednesday, February 19, at 9:30 AM.

As part of its Dine and Discuss series, the library will host a discussion on gallbladder disease on Thursday, January 16, at 7 PM. Dr. Sara Cerrone of Peconic Bay Medical Center will talk about the disease and treatment options.
