Southampton Democrats Seek Volunteers

The Southampton Town Democratic Club board will be canceling the April and May Saturday breakfasts that had been scheduled. However, they will be hosting a virtual happy hour on Cinco de Mayo, Tuesday, May 5. The club is also looking for volunteers to drop off supplies to those in need. The Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton will be closed through Sunday, April 19. Book-drops will be closed, loans will be extended, and fines waived. The Friends of the Rogers Memorial Library Book Shop will be closed until the end of April. The library offers many resources for its patrons at www.myrml.org.

Southampton History Museum

Director of the Southampton History Museum, Tom Edmunds, believes the museum’s public spaces offer a way to stay in touch with nature. Relax on a bench at Rogers Mansion to view the historic buildings, or observe the sunset through the budding trees. In Emma’s Garden at the Pelletreau Silver Shop, the perennial herbs are waking up. The staff is also working on virtual tours to keep connected. Visit www.southamptonhistory.org for more information.

Southampton Animal Shelter

The Southampton Animal Shelter is hosting The Greatest Party That Never Was on April 30. It’s a very fake event for a very real cause. Visit www.southamptonanimalshelter.com/dontshowup. Once you purchase your ticket, an email will arrive with follow-up instructions. Watch on Facebook to see who else doesn’t show up. Your donation to this imaginary event will provide homeless pets with care and support.

Slow Food Auction

Slow Food East End had to cancel its fundraiser this month and is now hosting an online silent auction. The auction includes items like a basket of Sparkling Pointe new releases, lunch for four at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, and a threesome of golf at Friar’s Head. Visit https://e.givesmart.com/events/gKG.

Live From Guild Hall

Guild Hall in East Hampton will be posting new content every day taking a look back at some of the great moments in its history of arts and education programming. Go to www.guildhall.org.

Sip And Sing

Every Friday at 5 PM, Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor will host a virtual sing-along broadcasting via Zoom right in the comfort of your own home. To receive the Zoom link, go to www.baystreet.org and sign up for the newsletter.
