CAST Receives Donations

The North Fork Chamber of Commerce made a $1,390.53 donation to Community Action-Southold Town and North Fork Parish Outreach to support ongoing efforts providing for those in need.

The group set up a fundraiser last month to help these groups provide essential support to members of the community. Both organizations were working overtime to help those who have been hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its food pantries and mobile food distribution system are vital to the North Fork.

“We reached out to both groups to see what they needed, and they needed everything,” said North Fork Chamber of Commerce President Linda Sweeney. “We realized that providing them with financial support would allow them to make the best decisions for those whom they serve. We are so proud of how our community stepped up to support each other during this unprecedented time.”

Sweeney and several members of the board of directors for the chamber group presented multiple checks on June 4.

“We hope the funds will help CAST and the North Fork Parish Outreach continue to provide for our neighbors and friends,” Sweeney said.

The North Fork Chamber of Commerce is an organization creating a supportive environment for businesses, while fostering a stronger North Fork community through networking meetings, promotional advertisements, and neighborhood initiatives.
