Hilton Garden Inn Celebrates Grand Reopening

It’s almost tourist season on the East End, and the Hilton Garden Inn in Riverhead has celebrated its grand reopening in the nick of time.
Located on Old Country Road, the hotel is situated perfectly on the gateway to the East End. It’s walking distance from the beloved Tanger Outlets for shoppers, and of course an easy drive to get to both the Hamptons and North Fork.
“We’ve addressed every single guest facing aspect of the property, from the flooring in the lobby to the window treatment in the guest rooms,” Aghfar Arun, executive director of hospitality at Bradford Allen, the Hilton Garden Inn’s owner, said. “It is a completely reimagined hotel. As we look around the lobby, it’s a new bar, it’s a new meeting space. It’s new furniture, new front desks, new retail. Going into the meeting spaces, again, brand new AV equipment. Every component of those spaces have been addressed. All the guest rooms received a full renovation, from the carpet to the wall covering to the furniture to the bed to the mattresses, bathrooms. It was all encompassing.”
Pam Suhr, vice president of sales for New Castle Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Garden Inn’s property manager, mentioned that there are now Peloton suites in the hotel.
“We have new Peloton suites and rooms now, for guests who come in, those people that are sports enthusiasts and have a Peloton as the basis of their fitness routine,” Suhr said. “We did it in the winter, when the area in general is a little bit slower. Sometimes snow gets in our way, but we just slow down a little bit there. But here we are ready to launch a beautiful product and beautiful hotel now.”
Suffolk County Legislator Ann Welker (D-Southampton) attended the grand reopening, and expressed her gratitude for a great hotel that gives visitors a great place to stay while enjoying the Hamptons.
“There’s such good energy here in this room, and reinvestment is so important for our economy on the East End,” Welker said. “Riverhead, where it sits between the two forks, is the gateway to the East End, and because there aren’t as many hotels either on the North Fork, on the south on the South Fork, the hotels that are situated here in Riverhead are super important.”
But in addition to providing easy access to the rest of the East End, Hilton Garden Inn’s reopening is yet another addition to Riverhead’s rapid growth, as both a community and business district.
“Riverhead is one of the fastest growing towns in Suffolk County, and this is a perfect example of that,” Riverhead Town Supervisor Timothy Hubbard said. “They were here. They invested a few years ago, and they liked it so much, and things are good for them. They reinvested, put more money into it, and it’s an absolutely beautiful facility. Riverhead is just going to be the sparkling diamond of all of Suffolk County.”
The Hilton Garden Inn is located at 2038 Old Country Road in Riverhead and can be reached at 631-727-2733.
