Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital’s Orient Beach State Park run/walk benefits those battling substance abuse and alcohol addiction.

Run. Walk. Help others recover.

Stony Brook Medicine’s Eastern Long Island Hospital is hosting its third annual 5K Family Walk/Run Sunday, September 8, to benefit its Quannacut inpatient and outpatient addiction and inpatient adult psychiatry programs. The event coincides with National Recovery Month.

Registration is from 7:15 to 7:45 AM Sunday morning at Orient Beach State Park. The 5K begins at 8 AM, and there’s an 8:30 AM start for a half-mile fun run for children. There will be an awards ceremony, activities for kids, live music, and a post-race party. Registration could also be done online at www.elih.org/walkrun.
