The popular musical based on the 1998 film of the same name, The Wedding Singer, comes to the East End this summer on the North Fork Community Theatre’s 44th Youth On Stage Production.
The program features young performers from the area, with the most recent shows including Legally Blonde, South Pacific and Footloose.
Set in 1985, The Wedding Singer is the story of Robbie Hart, a wedding singer from New Jersey who is left at the altar himself. The plot follows Hart as he tries to make the weddings he performs at awful, just like his was. He meets and falls for Julia, a waitress who is already engaged, and tries to win her heart.
NFCT’s production features a cast of 28 actors and actresses. Director Amanda Mouzakes and musical director Jake Boergesson head the production.
