With just 20 days until spring, things are heating up on the Twin Forks—and this weekend is no exception! Gone are the days of dull, East End winter doldrums. Friday, March 1

Candlelight Friday at Wölffer Estate Vineyard

5 – 8 p.m.

Kick off the weekend after work with soothing light, good wine and hot jazz at Wölffer Estate’s Candlelight Friday. This fun, sexy and romantic evening is free to attend at one of the Hamptons’ loveliest locales. Each week, through April, (there are only a few more left!) Multicultural Festival 2013 at Pierson High School

5:30 – 9 p.m.

Sag Harbor Elementary School PTA invites you to celebrate diversity and
span continents with a banquet of food from more than 25 countries, music, drumming, dance and games. A great hometown Hamptons event with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting The Sag Harbor Food Pantry
& John Jermain Library. $5

Long Island Comedy Festival at Martha Clara Vineyards

7:45 p.m.

Get some much-needed laughs and much-needed wine with standup comedy at this Riverhead vineyard. Get in a chuckle or heckle and enjoy a live showcase featuring top comics direct from New York’s comedy scene. $25 ticket price, $30 at the door, $20 for Wine Club members.

Shinnecock Indian Museum Open House Celebration

11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

This community-based institution and portal for cultural exchange has not seen a change of this magnitude since it opened more than a decade ago, in June of 2001. Examine Native American artifacts, art and crafts; learn about the Shinnecock traditions and history, and discover a culture and people who predate any European settlers. Come to their open house and see what’s new! Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

Zima: A Winter Production in the Woods

3:30 – 5 p.m.

“Zima,” Polish for “winter,” is a series of magical vignettes of humans, sculptures and displays situated in the Quogue wildlife forest, where a story will unfold, and attendees will be asked to help solve a riddle during their 40-minute outdoor walk. Zima is the creation of the Neo-Political Cowgirls, a professional acting/dance troupe that has been recognized by Dan’s Papers as “Best Theatre Group” in the Hamptons. All are invited to share in these magical dreamscapes and a true embracing of nature and winter by a group whose name represents new politics of the earth, for all humanity. Enjoy refreshments, snacks, and live music near the cozy fireplace in the Nature Center. Proceeds will benefit Quogue Wildlife Refuge. $10 for adults, $5 for children.

Grand Opening Gala for The Suffolk Theatre

6 p.m. – 12 a.m.

The Suffolk Theater in Riverhead celebrates its grand reopening with the “best party since 1933.” Don’t miss their “Back to the 30s” cocktail party featuring Grammy award–winner Vince Giordano (of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) and his Nighthawks Orchestra. Hike Trout Pond to Windmill Hill

12:30 – 4 p.m.

Get out and enjoy the fresh air on Sunday in beautiful Noyac. Meet at the Trout Pond parking lot and embark on a moderately paced 5-plus-mile hike over the moraine to reach a great view of the Atlantic. Hilly terrain, great exercise and communing with nature with guide Bill Schildknecht. Free.
