Southampton Hospital is offering free coffee at its new cafeteria from March 18 to 22. The recently renovated space, located in the hospital‘s basement, has undergone a dramatic makeover and is now serving a new selection of well-priced healthy meal and snack options.

The updated food choices are now available Monday through Friday during lunch hours (11:15 a.m to 1:45 p.m.). Pizza, flatbread sandwiches, calzones and fresh garlic knots are featured at a new pizza station, while a new “Action Station” showcases a different theme each day. A chef will prepare an ethnic dish with fresh ingredients while you wait.

The salad bar has been reconfigured to include a build-your-own sandwich area, along with the salads and soups offered previously. Items are weighed at the register and priced accordingly. For lunch on the go, convenient grab-and-go coolers are stocked with items that can be purchased quickly. The new coffee bar and beverage fountain have been added along the same “take-out” wall.

Renovated design features include a new ceiling, lighting, 50-inch TV screens, ceiling fans, laminate wood flooring and wooden tables and chairs. Murals by Heather Dunn & Co. of East Hampton already adorn the basement hallways, and there are more murals to come. The hospital also hopes to display artwork from local school children in the cafeteria space.

Southampton Hospital is located at 240 Meeting House Lane in Southampton. The cafeteria is open from 6:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., but closes daily from 10:15–11:15 a.m. and 2:15–3:15 p.m.
