Spring Fashion and Butterflies

By Amy Zerner
2 minute 03/25/2013 Share

Butterflies remind us not to take life so seriously. They feed on flowers that they help pollinate, thereby further spreading beauty. They represent the element of air, quickly changing and ever moving, so gracefully. Butterflies are messengers of the moment. They come in a variety of colors to remind us that no matter what color we are, we are all part of the same family.

Most of us limit ourselves by allowing our fears, habits and obsessions to hobble us as surely as if we were wearing shackles. No matter what is holding you down, a meditation on the butterfly can lift you up and help you float above it. The butterfly separates from the caterpillar‘s chrysalis, another word for “cocoon,” and flies away to live a new life. This is symbolic of the fact that, at our core as human and spiritual beings, we exist as the ever-changing and ever-free feeling/mind/spirit that is separate from our bodies.

To create the “butterfly” look, wear soft, floaty and delicate fabrics such as crepe and georgette, embellished with beads, sequins and embroidery designs. When you wear a butterfly, you will know how to gracefully go through transformational stages in order to become the beauty you are, and you will be guided to do it with ease and grace.
