Hampton Coffee Company Expands to Southampton

Welcome to the most quintessential part about living in a small town—gossip. At lunch over Hampton Coffee this afternoon, Dan’s Papers has learned that the iconic East End coffee shop is expanding into the old Mini dealership on Montauk Highway in Southampton.

Our source tells us that HCC has outgrown its flagship Water Mill digs—which used to be an old auto garage, sensing a theme?—and will move the roasting room to Southampton, expanding café seating in the Water Mill. The Southampton location will be a full blown upscale coffee shop, with roastery tours, specialty drinks and seating.

The new location is expected to mimic the scene at college town coffee shops around the country—live music, late hours, tables to sit and get work done… In essence, it will be glorious.

An independent coffee shop in the Hamptons? Hello hipsters? Could this be the answer to Montauk‘s problems?
