Matt Lauer Yachting in Sag Harbor Bay

Likely trying to escape all the noise and hubbub in Manhattan over the weekend, Matt Lauer was seen yachting in Sag Harbor Bay on Saturday. A Daily News spy snapped shots of Lauer in his new $1.4 million Hinckley T38 jet-powered yacht appropriately called “Resilient.”

The Today host has had to be resilient of late as he endures continued bad press since allegedly getting his former co-host Ann Curry sacked last summer. Lauer and NBC officials deny he had anything to do with Curry‘s firing, but his pal Kathie Lee Gifford has been so upset with all the backlash against him, she recently tried to run a full page newspaper ad signed by friends and colleagues—but not Curry—saying the host is a good guy. Lauer asked Gifford not to run the ad, but news of it got out anyway.

More locally, Southampton Town added to Lauer‘s troubles by putting a stop-work order on his sprawling 40-acre horse farm in the township.
