A man died and a second man was injured during a shooting in Eastport early Sunday, according to Suffolk County police.

Police said a 911 caller reported that two masked men broke into 142 East Moriches Road and said they were robbing the house, before shooting the two victims. The armed men then fled.

Francisco Pirir, 45, who lived in the home, was killed at 3:24 a.m., according to detectives. The second victim, who was shot in the hand, was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released, police said.
