Theater and performance troupe Our Fabulous Variety Show—the 2013 Dan’s Best of the Best Platinum Theater Group—returns to Guild Hall this weekend for its third annual holiday-themed show, this year called the Holiday Spectacular! Spectacular! Spectacular!

The vaudevillian show of song, dance and comedy is geared toward the whole family to get into the holiday spirit. And for the first time, Santa Claus will join in the spectacular.

“It’s family friendly but not just for kids,” says OFVS co-founder Anita Boyer.

The show includes a number of holiday favorites, plus original parody songs. Among the highlights, Michael Contino will sing “Snoopy’s Christmas” and Sheree Elder will sing “O Holy Night” with sign-language interpretation by Courtney Bennett. Dance numbers will include a modern dance to “Choreography” from White Christmas and the “Little Drummer Boy” tap finale. Christmas carol parodies include “We Wish You a Politically Correct Non-demoninational Holiday Season” and a take on “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” with versus on a bad Christmas party and on having no money for Christmas presents after spending too much money on ObamaCare. “It’s all in good fun,” Boyer says.

In addition to comedy sketches like “Live Nativity,” stand-up comedians will perform, including Hampton Bays’ Patrick Esposito

Bobby Peterson, who performed for Guild Hall’s staging of Tonight at 8:30 over the summer, will be the show’s pianist, including a solo performance. John Online of WBLI 106.1 FM will host.

“It’s a really fabulous way to get into the holiday spirit but not too much Christmas overload,” Boyer says of the whole spectacular.

For 45 minutes before curtain, children can meet Santa in the Guild Hall lobby.

Proceeds will benefit WPPB 88.3 FM Peconic Public Broadcasting.

Showtimes are Friday, December 6, and Saturday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. For tickets call 631-259-3380 or visit ourfabulousvarietyshow.org. Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street, East Hampton. Tickets range from $18 to $50, for premium box seats. Group rates and student rates are available.
