Whether you’re heading for Iron Pier Beach, Orient Point State Park, taking the boat out in the Peconic Bay, or on your way to one of the many vineyards on the North Fork’s wine trail, a day of outdoor fun isn’t complete without a picnic. If getting up and out is your style, you can pick up sandwiches, fruit and cheese en route at one of these fine to-go establishments:

In Riverhead, Maple Tree Deli has mouthwatering sandwiches like North Carolina Style BBQ Pork, Alabama Style BBQ Chicken, grilled vegetables, beans and corn. 820 West Main Street, Riverhead. 631-727-2819.

Blue Duck Bakery, with locations in Greenport, Southold, Riverhead, has you covered for breakfast, lunch and dessert. Croissants, muffins, gourmet sandwiches, salads, Hale & Hearty soups, cupcakes, fresh bread and rolls are all ready to go. Coffee, tea and lattes are always on the menu, too. blueduckbakery.com.
