Since its first performance in 2010, Our Fabulous Variety Show has brought theatrical fun to the East End while simultaneously serving as a benefit for a variety of charities and causes. The upcoming Flashbacks variety show, the troupe’s ninth full-scale production, will benefit the new OFVS Performing Arts Scholarship Fund for a deserving Long Island student in the arts.

The vaudeville-style variety program will feature more high school students than past OFVS performances, explained co-founder Anita Boyer, as a reflection of the spotlight on raising scholarship funds.

The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a high school graduate or current college student. The establishment of the scholarship fund is in hopes that the awards may be made annually moving forward.

Boyer, who founded OFVS with Kasia Klimiuk, said the scholarship is meant to benefit students with a true passion for the performing arts.

“We are looking for applicants whose lives have been affected by theater in some way,” she said.

A panel will select the ultimate recipient after anonymously reviewing all applications. The winner of the $1,000 scholarship will be announced after the final Flashbacks performance.

The exciting show will feature singing, dancing and comedy with 40 performers. The cast represents a diverse bunch of Long Islanders, explained Boyer, with residents from Montauk to Northport.

Flashbacks will include reprises of past audience favorites, such as an extended tap number and condensed version of last summer’s Godspell. Boyer also elaborated on other features of the show, including a Lady Gaga medley and a cappella version of “Bad Romance.”

Another new addition to the OFVS experience is a VIP cocktail reception prior to the second performance. From 6-7 p.m., guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks from the Southampton Publick House.

Flashbacks will be available for Hamptons audiences for one day only on Saturday, July 26, at the Southampton Cultural Center. Performances will be at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are available at .ourfabulousvarietyshow.org. Admission ranges from $20 for back row seating to $45 for a VIP front table experience featuring complimentary drinks and an OFVS goodie bag.
