Meet Chef Scoff Kampf of Southampton Social Club
Chef Scott Kampf of the Southampton Social Club was drawn to the East End for the area’s beauty and sense of community, and he’s quickly turned the Elm Street restaurant into a go-to hotspot. With an innovative menu that focuses on seasonal, local ingredients, the Southampton Social Club has become a favorite Hamptons destination for both fine dining and late-night gatherings. Taste Chef Kampf’s signature culinary style at Dan’s Taste of Two Forks on Saturday, July 18.
What are you most looking forward to about being part of Dan’s Taste of Summer this year?
I’m looking forward to all the new faces, and the old ones.
What is the best pairing of food and Long Island beer? Long Island wine?
My best pairing for Long Island beer is a great burger. The best pairing for Long Island wines is local grilled fish.
If you were to eat at your restaurant as a guest, what would you order?
I would order my Maple Glazed Bacon App, then a rack of lamb
Describe the adrenaline of working in a Hamptons kitchen.
Hamptons kitchens go from being closed to 300 dinners in literally a week’s time. That’s what I love—the challenge
What drew you to work on the East End?
The beauty and sense of community
If we looked inside your refrigerator right now, what would we find?
This time of year, milk for cereal, half and half for coffee, and water
The perfect drink for a summer night:
An Arnold Palmer
If you had two forks in your hands right now, what would you like to stick them in?

Striped Bass Provencal. The whole dish is locally inspired—the bass is local, the heirloom tomatoes are local, local white wine and local basil.
What is your favorite aspect of being part of the East End culinary culture?
That all the chefs work together for community events. They keep it local.
When you hear the phrase “local,” what comes to mind?
FRESH
Where do you find inspiration?
Everywhere. I’m always looking for an idea that will work for our guests.
If you were to pack a meal for the beach, what are three things you’d bring?
Water, a turkey sandwich with bacon and avocado, and flax seed chips
A great meal always begins with…
Great company
