Montauk, a popular vacation destination, has many restaurants, eateries and shops that can make the summer nights fly by. Whether you’re looking for fresh seafood, or a place to get swept up into a late night party, Montauk is sure to have a spot to keep you occupied. Readers have selected a few of their favorite options for Dan’s Best of the Best Restaurants and Nightlife:
Westlake Fish House (352 Westlake Drive, Montauk; 631-668-3474, westlakefishhouse.com) was awarded platinum seafood restaurant on the South Fork. The restaurant serves fresh fish from Montauk’s waters and offers a variety of dishes from sushi to cowboy steaks. Also, the recipient of the gold best restaurant atmosphere and the platinum best chef, Westlake Fish House is open Mondays through Thursdays and Sundays from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Westlake Fish House features Montauk’s sea and maritime tradition and offers waterview dining. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are all available. Larry Kolar, the renowned chef, has created menus that focus on local food and ingredients from the East End’s many farms and vineyards.
The Point Bar and Grill (697 Montauk Highway, Montauk; 631-668-1500, pointbarandgrill.com) was voted as the bronze best sports bar. Founded in 2000, The Point Bar and Grill serves local seafood, burgers and wings. They advertise a fun, family-friendly sports bar ambiance. Sports games and events can be watched on 16 flat-screen televisions. Drink specials are available for each game. Open Sunday through Saturday from noon to 4 a.m., dinner service ends at 10 p.m. The Point stays open into the wee hours providing guests with parties every night of the summer.
