The December 16, 2016 Sag Harbor fire

A massive fire destroyed multiple businesses on Sag Harbor’s Main Street on Friday, December 16. Fire Department photographer Michael Heller captured the devastation and the heroic firemen who contained this conflagration in a series of photographs taken throughout the ordeal. Among the businesses lost were SagTown Coffee, Brown Harris Stevens, Matta, Henry Lehr, Corner Closet, Compass Real Estate, Richard J. Demato Fine Art Gallery and the iconic Sag Harbor Cinema.
