Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin Keep Busy Post-Election Season
Hamptons regular Hillary Clinton and longtime aide Huma Abedin are keeping busy. Clintonwill soon visit with some of the biggest supporters and fundraisers of her presidential campaign. With planning help from Abedin, Evercore investment banker Charles Myers will host a “thank-you” cocktail party for fellow Clinton fans at his New York apartment on April 27. Invites were reportedly sent out recently. An insider told Page Six, “This could be interpreted as the launch of a New York mayoral campaign, a prospecting 2020 party, a commiseration party or a postmortem party.”
Abedin is keeping busy and reportedly shopping for a multi-million dollar book deal. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Abedin is meeting with top literary agents and discussing writing a book on how her personal and professional lives collided during the presidential campaign. As many know, her estranged husband, Anthony Weiner, was listed as the reason for the FBI reopened their investigation into Clinton’s private email server just days before the election; they were looking into Weiner’s text message exchange with a minor and supposedly found information relating to Clinton.
Abedin is seeking $2 million for the book, which has received Clinton’s blessing. The Hollywood Reporter notes that Abedin has never given an interview on the incident, so this book could have a wide appeal. Abedin does not have a literary agent or representative at this time. Princeton University’s Julian Zelizer told The Hollywood Reporter that publishers will be looking for Abedin to “put herself out there.”
