As a precursor to the primary election on June 25, the League of Women Voters of the Hamptons will sponsor a candidate debate on Wednesday, June 12, at 7 PM at Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton.
Debating for the Independence Party line for Southampton Town Supervisor in the November 5 general election will be the current town supervisor Jay Schneiderman versus challenger Alex Gregor, the current highway superintendent.
The format for the debates consists of the candidates making timed opening and closing statements and answering questions submitted by the league, the press, and the audience. The moderator will be LWV Hamptons co-president Estelle Gellman of East Hampton.
