East Hampton Chamber Mixer

The Maidstone and the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce will co-host an after-business hours mixer on Wednesday, November 20, from 5 to 7 PM at the restaurant, located at 207 Main Street in East Hampton. Complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres and happy hour pricing will be available. The event is sponsored by Simple Vodka.

There’ll be updates on all the happenings in December including details on the Santa Parade, Hook Mill lighting, and the new Night Market on Newtown Lane as well as the 27th annual East Hampton B&B, Inn, Restaurant, and Attraction Holiday Tour. Admission is free for members or future members and $15 for non-members.

ARF Dog Training

The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons’ dog training classes are moving indoors to a heated greenhouse at Wainscott Farms on Daniels Hole Road. Register now for the next session of classes which start November 22 to 25, with instructor Matthew Posnick. Classes include puppy kindergarten, dog obedience, dog agility, AKC tricks, and therapy prep.

Holiday Centerpiece Class

In collaboration with Millstone Flowers, Serena & Lily in Wainscott is hosting a holiday centerpiece workshop just in time to deck your own halls. Learn the art of fresh flower arranging with live step-by-step instruction, all materials, plus bubbles and light bites on Saturday, November 23, from 5 to 7 PM, for $55.

Children’s Programs

The Amagansett Free Library will hold a Play-Doh Party on Saturday, November 23, at 11 AM. For children age three and up.

Potato Painting will be held on Saturday, November 23, at 2 PM, for all ages. Registration through the library’s online events calendar is requested. Experiment with the potato as a paintbrush or use the potato as a simple printmaking tool.

Thank You Storytime will be held on Sunday, November 24, at 2 PM. Stories will a gratitude theme will be read in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Rogers Memorial Library

Celebrated American poet Lucas Hunt and award-winning short story writer and novelist Simon Van Booy will be at the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton on Sunday, November 24, at 3 PM to read selections from their work, share stories about their friendship, and the respective paths they have taken, and talk about their current pursuits.

A talk titled “Living Off the Grid” will be held on Monday, November 25, at 5:30 PM. Library staff member Kristina Muller will talk about her family’s remote cabin in Upstate New York where she vacations and goes to “unplug.”
