With the approaching unveiling of the new-and-improved Sag Harbor Cinema comes the establishment of theater pricing. And with the restrictive use easement it acquired on the property in 2018, Southampton Town is ensuring the cost will remain reasonable.
“This provision will make it affordable and accessible to everyone in the town,” Councilman Tommy John Schiavoni said. “It really is a great facility and it’s nice to see that section of Sag Harbor being pieced back together.”
Community Preservation Fund Manager Lisa Kombrink said a survey was done comparing film ticket pricing. She said the cost to town residents under the easement could be no more than 80 percent of the going price in neighboring theaters. Senior or child regular and matinee tickets will cost $9, an adult matinee ticket $9.50, and an adult non-matinee ticket $11.50. Prices were created by referencing Regal UA theater charges in Southampton and Hampton Bays.
“It’s amazing,” Kombrink said after touring the new building. “It’s going to be absolutely beautiful. There’s so much for the community there.”
