The 22nd annual Box Art Auction, a late-summer tradition benefiting East End Hospice, took place at St. Luke’s Church Hoie Hall in East Hampton. Over 80 talented artists participated in making boxes for this year’s auction.
The 2023 Spirit of Community Award was given to Tae’s Bake Shop founder Kathleen King. Artists transformed donated cigar and wine boxes into canvases, showcasing an array of styles of traditional landscapes, abstract art, ceramics, sculpture, painting, collage, assemblage, photography, metalwork and needlework on fabric.
The live auction, led by Lucas Hunt, drew participants in as they indulged in wine and hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds raised during the event benefited East End Hospice, an organization that provides care to terminally ill patients and their families throughout the East End.
