With the backdrop of the sparkling ocean at the beautiful Breakers Palm Beach, it was only fitting that the guest speakers during the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce breakfast were world-renowned marine artist, scientist and conservationist Dr. Guy Harvey and his daughter, Guy Harvey Foundation (GHF) CEO Jessica Harvey.

More than 500 local corporate and community leaders and Town of Palm Beach government officials were on hand for a lively Q&A with Guy and Jessica, focused on the importance of ocean conservation, marine science education and entrepreneurship and led by Palm Beach Chamber President and CEO Douglas C. Evans.

Guy and Jessica shared exciting updates on the GHF marine science curriculum that is available to students in Florida, in classrooms, on the Guy Harvey website and through partnerships with Discovery Education, Florida Virtual School and Ocean First Education. They also shared important research taking place on shark genomes, shark and billfish tracking research through the Guy Harvey Research Institute at Nova Southeastern University, recent coral reef restoration projects, partnerships, Guy’s latest book 10,000 Chicken Sandwiches and more.
