Cedar Street in East Hampton glistened not just from the rain but also from the Wet Down celebration marking the arrival of new fire trucks and vehicles at the East Hampton Fire House.

The event drew chiefs and members from every local fire department, including Montauk, Amagansett, East Hampton, Sag Harbor, Springs and Southampton, who came to honor their renewed firefighting arsenal.

The traditional ceremony saw the new equipment christened with water, symbolizing their readiness for service.
