Delray Beach Library Hosts Very Berry Bake-Off

Ready, set, bake! The Delray Beach Public Library, located at 100 West Atlantic Avenue, is bringing back its sweetest tradition – The Very Berry Bake-Off – on Saturday, September 27 at 1 p.m.
Last year’s bake-off went coconut crazy, but this year is all about the berries — so don’t miss the chance to taste, vote and cheer on the community’s best bakers in a fun, flavorful showdown.
Pie pros, cake connoisseurs, muffin magician and more powerful pastry practitioners will get the chance to show off their berry best. Entries may include pies, bars, cakes, crumbles, muffins, scones and more delights – as long as they feature berries (of any kind).
The public is invited to attend the event on September 27 and vote for the People’s Choice Award. There will also be cooking demonstrations, giveaways and food samples.
First Place will earn a $100 City Oyster gift card, and Second Place wins a $50 City Oyster gift card, while Third Place gets a beautiful gift basket courtesy of the Delray Beach Historical Society.
This year’s judges include City Oyster chef Jordan Stilley, Winnie Duggans Edwards from the Delray Beach Historical Society, Delray Beach Library Board President Joycelyn Patrick, and Christina Morrison, a local commercial realtor and property consultant.
Guests will also enjoy a live cooking demo by Space of Mind’s chef, which will spice things up before the audience samples every last delicious entry.
The event is free and open to the public. Bakers must register at delraylibrary.org.
