Southamptonites and animal advocates Beth Ostrosky Stern and Howard Stern have collabortated with the North Shore Animal League to create a 2014 pet calendar. The 12-month wall calendar features Animal League spokesperson Ostrosky Stern posing with various rescue dogs and cats in photos taken by her famous shock jock husband.

Proceeds from the calendar, sold for $24.95 each, will go toward a special new Animal League project: Bianca’s Furry Friends, a planned state-of-the-art Feline Adoption & Wellness Center named in honor of the Stern’s beloved Bulldog, who passed away in 2012.

“With Bianca’s Furry Friends, Animal League America will add a 14,000-square-foot second floor to our existing Adoption Headquarters that will feature a cage-free environment for hundreds of cats and kittens, so we’ll be able to save so many more lives,” Ostrosky Stern says. “And we’ll be able to rescue more dogs, too, since the area downstairs where cats now stay will be available to expand our very successful canine adoption program.”

“Howard did a phenomenal job photographing all of the stunning portraits featured in the 2014 calendar, which features Beth and many adorable, adoptable animals of every age, mix and size,” says Joanne Yohannan, Senior V.P. of Operations at Animal League America. “Whether they are canine or feline, young or old, they all share one characteristic: They were all rescued by Animal League America from dire circumstances and placed for adoption at our no-kill headquarters, where all found loving, permanent homes,” Yohannan adds, noting, “We are so grateful to Beth and Howard for their devotion to our mission.”

All kittens in the calendar were all fostered by the Sterns. “It really made this year’s calendar so special to both of us, since we knew these kittens so well and loved them with all our hearts,” Ostrosky Stern explains.

The calendar also features some of Animal League America’s favorite canine friends, including Annie and Una, two sweet dogs the organization rescued from terrible lives as puppy mill breeding dogs. Another dog pictured with Beth is one of the League’s favorites, Leo, who is as sweet as he looks!

The calendars make perfect holiday and birthday gifts, and help Animal League America expand and continue its no-kill mission to rescue, nurture and adopt the wonderful shelter animals known as “Mutt-i-grees.”

“I’m so proud of these photos, and even more proud that the money we raise will save precious, innocent lives,” Ostrosky Stern says. “It was a joy to create this calendar, and by ordering it, you’ll bring joy to countless animals in need.”

This is the Sterns’ second year doing the League’s annual Mutt-i-grees calendar. “Howard and I had such a great time putting together [the 2013] calendar in 2012, and this year’s edition was even more fun to create,” Ostrosky Stern adds.

Anyone who donates $24.95 or more to Animal League America will receive the Sterns’ keepsake 2014 calendar. Click here to learn more about the calendar and read Ostrosky Stern’s blog about it from August. Or visit animalleague.org to donate and order.
