Hamptons Dining Dish: Artists & Writers Night, Oysters & Wine Dinner

Hamptons restaurants are getting into the season of giving by giving the East End a bounty of prix fixe’s and special event dinners, including the return of Almond’s Artists & Writers Night.

Almond in Bridgehampton announces the eighth monthly “Artists & Writers Night” hosted by musical performance artist Cynthia Hopkins on Tuesday, December 3 at 7 p.m. A family style three-course menu created by executive chef Jason Weiner will be served. The cost is $40 in advance and $45 at the door with a glass of local wine or craft beer, tax and gratuity. Reservations are required. 631-537-5665

Fresh Hamptons in Bridgehampton will host a special oyster and wine pairing dinner on Friday, December 6 at 7 p.m. featuring Howard Pickerell’s Pride Oysters and Paumanok Vineyards. The six-course dinner costs $95 per person, plus tax and 20% gratuity. Paumanok Wine Club and Fresh Hamptons Rewards members both receive a discounted price of $85 plus tax and 20% gratuity. Reservations are required. The menu includes warm poached oysters with organic leek fondue and oyster and black pepper ice cream. 631-537-4700

Bostwick’s Chowder House in East Hampton has announced a new dinner special on Thursdays and Sundays every week, from 4:30 p.m. to close. This special will act like a three-course prix fixe, but the cost is dependent on the price of the entrée the diner chooses. The menu includes any homemade chowders or soups, baked clams, and chicken wings, as well as the choice of any dinner entrées, daily specials or the lobster roll (excludes other sandwiches and rolls). 631-324-1111

The Driver’s Seat in Southampton has announced its Fall/Winter specials. Every day lunch specials include soup and salad for $9.95 and a beer and burger for $9.95. Other specials include two-for-one entrées on Wednesday nights, a pasta special featuring three courses and a glass of wine for $13.95 on Thursdays, a New York strip steak for $21.95 on Fridays, and a three-course prime rib dinner for $22.95 on Saturday nights. 631-283-6606

The Bell & Anchor in Sag Harbor offers a prix fixe menu Sunday through Thursday all night, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The special includes an appetizer and entrée for $30, or with dessert for $35. The menu includes a choice of homeport chowder, Caesar salad or arugula salad with crumbled goat cheese as well as the fish of the day, moules frites, pan-roasted Duroc pork chop, flat iron steak and “old school” lobster garganelli. 631-725-3400

little|red in Southampton offers several specials throughout the week. Wednesday is Burger Night where diners can build their own bistro burger platter with pomme frites, lettuce, tomato, Vidalia onion and spicy bread and butter pickles for $10. In addition, entrée specials are offered Monday through Thursday for $19.95, including duck grilled cheese on Monday, chef’s choice on Tuesday, veal Milanese on Wednesday and hanger steak frites on Thursday. 631-283-3309
