Spend Valentine's Day with Nancy Atlas, Brian Mitchell at Bay Street Theatre
The hottest winter concert series to hit the East End is back when Nancy Atlas’s Fireside Sessions at Bay Street Theatre continues this Friday night, February 14.
Here’s five reasons to see the show with someone you love (or just really like).
1. Brian Mitchell is a whole lot better than a box of chocolates. “If you like Dr. John and anything at all to do with New Orleans, then come on down,” Nancy says of this week’s special guest and keyboardist extraordinaire Brian Mitchell, who will be taking the stage with the band. “He will not disappoint. He was a key member of Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble band.”
2. Nancy has already rocked Bay Street with Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Rosch, Randi Fishenfeld, Andy Aledort and Danny Kean, and she’s just getting warmed up!
3. Known for raw, live performances and stellar songwriting, Nancy and her band, The Nancy Atlas Project, have opened for almost everyone under the sun. To name a few: Elvis Costello, Lucinda Williams, Toots and the Maytals, Jimmy Buffett, and Crosby, Stills and Nash. At Bay Street, you get all Nancy, all night.
4. You get to shop and dine out in Sag Harbor before and after the concert. Name a better Friday night destination than that!
5. There are only two weeks of the Fireside Sessions remaining. “On February 21 we are breaking out some oldie-but-goodie originals,” Nancy says, “and then ending our series on February 28th with Arno Hecht of the Uptown Horns.” What are you waiting for?
Showtime is 8 p.m. and tickets are $20. Purchase tickets at baystreet.org
