Vote: Create 'The Montauk' Cocktail
This week, Dan’s Papers asked our Facebook fans for their suggestions of ingredients to put in a cocktail named “The Montauk.”
We received many answers, ranging from the sincere to the absurd and humorous.
We’ll start with a look at the absurd:
George
A fedora filled with PBR.
Nevets
Essence of hipster
Mick
A bunch of drunk people stumbling in the street between the Memory Motel and the Point, with a garnish of oceanfront motel-soon-to-be private surf club, with the drink price being about 22.5 million. Each drink sold nets the bartender (who moonlights as a real estate agent) a VERY high commission fee.
Gio
Blah blah blah topped with an oyster.
Cynthia
Striped bass.
Ed
A monster
Pam
Keith Richards
Linda
Sand.
Heather
Clams
Christopher
…SERVED AND RECEIVED WITH A BAD ATTITUDE.
Melissa
Distilled fish juice and if you can handle it… You can stay!
And here are the sincere answers. (Some suggestions were for just one ingredient, while others were full-fledged cocktails.)
Mary
Vodka, mint, pineapple, cranberry
Lou
Dark rum for the sun, Blue Curaçao for the ocean, and beer for the lifestyle
Susanna
Long Island Ice-Tea and some Champagne
Jean
Champagne with a splash of Blood Orange juice or liquor
John
Capt Morgan
Andrea
Baileys’ Irish cream with Curaçao
Colin
Vodka Orange raspberry and bitters (“The bitter End” on the rocks!)
Eileen
Blue Curaçao and cream de cocoa (Montauk Mermaid…served on the rocks … of course.)
Kj
PBR with a depth charge of Jäger
Kristen
Firefly ice tea vodka
Southampton Soap Company 1 oz. each vodka, gin, rum topped with Sweet ‘tauk lemonade, garnished with lemon. Sweet ‘tauk
Dan
vodka / cranberry / pineapple / oj
Troi
Rum
We’ve rounded up our favorites and now it is time to vote. The winning cocktail will earn its creator a Dan’s Papers T-shirt, and we will try to actually create the winning drink. (Only vote once. Attempts to manipulate the vote will invalidate the results. And then no one gets a T-Shirt!)
