North Fork Community Theatre Presents 'The Wedding Singer' Beginning July 24
The popular musical based on the 1998 film of the same name, The Wedding Singer, comes to the East End this summer on the North Fork Community Theatre’s 44th Youth On Stage Production.
The program features young performers from the area, with the most recent shows including Legally Blonde, South Pacific and Footloose.
Set in 1985, The Wedding Singer is the story of Robbie Hart, a wedding singer from New Jersey who is left at the altar himself. The plot follows Hart as he tries to make the weddings he performs at awful, just like his was. He meets and falls for Julia, a waitress who is already engaged, and tries to win her heart.
NFCT’s production features a cast of 28 actors and actresses. Director Amanda Mouzakes and musical director Jake Boergesson head the production.
The cast and crew are preparing for performances from late July through early August. Opening night is July 24, with subsequent performances every night through July 27. Shows continue July 31 through August 3 and August 7 through August 10. All Sunday performances are matinees at 2:30 pm and shows on other nights are at 8 p.m.
On July 24, the theater is hosting a special reception for the audience prior to the premiere performance. Arrive at 7 p.m. for the opening night celebration.
In addition to enjoying the performance, all shows will include raffle tickets for sale to audience members. The prizes includes two tickets to see the Broadway musical Rock of Ages.

Students have access to discounted tickets in a student rush at the box office before every performance. Student rush tickets are $15 and are available starting 10 minutes before the show. These discounted tickets cannot be reserved and are based on availability at the time.
