The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation will be releasing two rehabilitated seals back into the wild this Saturday, June 14, at 2 p.m. and the public is invited to help see them off.
The seal pups are named Zalla and WaterLilly. Zalla was rescued on a beach near Southampton with cuts on her flipper. WaterLilly was found in East Hampton next to a snow fence on the beach.
The release will be under the south side of the Ponquogue Bridge. After driving southbound over the bridge, make a left at the traffic light then another quick left onto a road that runs parallel to the bridge.
