Hornigs Host Sundance Institute Theatre Alumni Writing Studio
A special reception was held on Saturday night at the home of Joan and George Hornig of Water Mill, celebrating the launch of the Sundance Institute Theatre Alumni Writing Studio at Flying Point.
The Hornigs generously opened up their home for a week-long retreat for five Sundance Theatre alumni, who had the opportunity to put “pen to paper” as artists-in-residence. This special evening offered these talented playwrights the opportunity to share their work, which was created during their week at Flying Point, with invited guests in a most intimate setting.
Under the supervision of artistic director Philip Himberg and producing director Christopher Hibma, the initiatives are among the Theatre Program’s five annual Labs and Residencies for theatre artists and part of the 24 artist residency labs across many creative disciplines. Among the guests were actor Ricky Paull Goldin, director Derek Britt and Dan’s Papers founder Dan Rattiner.
