Cops: Felony Charged After Altercation with Housemate

A Westhampton man was jailed on Christmas and ordered held in lieu of $25,000 bail after striking his housemate in the head with a pair of pliers, according to Southampton Town police.

Luis Morales, 32, was arrested at home at 10:30 p.m. December 25. Police said Morales was involved in an altercation with the housemate, and the pliers caused a laceration.

Morales was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.

He was held overnight for morning arraignment.
