Jamesport Bank Robbed Tuesday, Suspect at Large
A man entered the Capital One Bank in Jamesport on Tuesday afternoon and handed the teller a note demanding money, according to Riverhead police, who believe he may also have been responsible for a December 16, 2014, bank robbery in Riverhead.
The Jamesport bank contacted police at 1:56 p.m. Tuesday to report the robbery.
After being handed some money, he reportedly fled east on foot to a wooded area. The area was searched with a K9 unit, but he was not found.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a Cash Reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
