Family Service League Seeks East End Volunteers
Family Service League is looking for volunteers to make a difference in the lives of Long Island children living in Eastern Suffolk County.
Homework tutors, adolescent craft and activity helpers, and pre-school aides are sought, and training is provided. Family Service League offers initial training classes, ongoing supervision and continuing education for all volunteer candidates.
Operation Success volunteers assist with homework help and tutoring for elementary students in after-school program at the FSL Riverhead Family Center.
RECESS volunteers assist with activities such as arts and crafts, games, sports and outings during this recreational program designed for children from ages 7 to 17 who are coping with mental illness. FSL Riverhead Family Center sessions are scheduled for Saturdays from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Preschool volunteers assist teachers who are helping to mold young minds through Family Service League’s Universal Pre-K program in Laurel. Morning and afternoon programs are weekdays throughout the school year. Scheduling is flexible.
