This Saturday, March 7, the inaugural March of the Leprechauns takes Riverhead.
The event was planned after the success of the first Riverhead SantaCon, a holiday-themed pub crawl featuring hundreds of people dressed as Santa Claus, elves, candy canes, etc. The March of the Leprechauns asks participants to dress as leprechauns—or just wear lots of green and shamrocks.
Vines & Hops, at 127 East Main Street, will hold a costume contest at 9 p.m.
Suffolk Theater will have $4 drafts and $6 well drinks, and DJ Phil will spin from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Hotel Indigo will serve $15 bangers and mash, $5 Jameson shots and $6 Leprechaun Martinis. Long Ireland Brewing has $3 pints in the brewery tasting room and $2 off regularly priced pints. Crooked Ladder Brewing Company offers $1 off everything, including merchandise. Digger O’Dells will have $1 off all drinks, $3 Coors Light Pints and Irish bar food specials. Joe’s Garage & Grill has $3 light beer pints, $4 “Shots of Gold,” $5 Killian and Shock Top pints, $8 Coors Light pitchers, $10 Bug Light and Miller Lite pitchers and $10 corned beef, cabbage and pint combos. Tweeds Restaurant will serve $5 whiskey shots, $5 Irish beers, and Irish bacon and cabbage with Irish bison bangers. Vines & Hops has $3 green beer, $4 JMO shots, $4 Lucky Leprechaun drinks and $5 Irish car bombs. Cliff’s Rendezvous has $3 pints of Coors and Miller Lite, $1 off regular-priced pints, $5 wine and well drinks, $2 corned beef sliders, $5 corned beef Reubens and $2 hot dogs. Uncle Joe’s will has $3-off pies all day. Riverhead Diner & Grill offers a burger and a beer for $10 from noon to 7 p.m.
