Bay Street Theater’s Summer Gala to Honor Joe Pintauro, Tim Bishop
East End arts luminaries will come together in Sag Harbor on the Long Wharf to celebrate the Bay Street Theater’s 24th annual Summer Gala on July 11.
This year’s honorees include former Congressman Tim Bishop and playwright, poet and novelist Joe Pintauro. The honorary chair for the evening is comedian, actress and former co-host of The View, Joy Behar.
The evening will begin with a premiere concert reading of the first act of the new stage adaptation of The Prince of Egypt, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and performances by Broadway and film stars including Norm Lewis and Aaron Lazar.
Under a tent on the Long Wharf, gala-goers will dine on meals prepared by Sterling Affairs and participate in live and silent auctions presented by celebrity auctioneer Richard Kind.
Auction items include a week in St. Bart’s at a luxury villa, a round of golf with Kind at The Bridge Golf Course in Bridgehampton, a catered at-home cocktail party from Sterling Affairs, and dinner and two tickets to the new Broadway musical, Hamilton.
Past attendees include Alan Alda, Julie Andrews, Lauren Bacall, Alec Baldwin, Mel Brooks, Kim Cattrall, Chevy Chase, Blythe Danner, Kelsey Grammer, Billy Joel, Susan Lucci, and many other celebrities and community arts activists.
VIP tables begin at $10,000 with VIP tickets at $1,200, general admission at $600 and $425 for young professionals 40 and younger. Proceeds benefit Bay Street’s educational and theatrical programs.
