Celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarian, a co-host of Food Network’s The Kitchen and judge on Chopped, plus the host of Dan’s Harvest East End on August 22 in Cutchogue, has decided to cut ties with businessman and presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Zakarian had plans to open a restaurant in 2016 at Trump’s new luxury hotel in Washington, D.C., but Zakarian said Thursday that he no longer wishes to do business with the billionaire, citing Trump’s recent comments on Mexican immigrants.
The comments do not align with his own core values, Zakarian said.
The planned restaurant was an outpost of The National, Zakarian’s Midtown establishment.
