Nothing spices up a Hamptons party quite like a specialty cocktail. And great cocktails start with great liquors.
The best time to get introduced to liquors and wines you haven’t tried before is during Dan’s Taste of Summer, the premier food and wine events on the East End. After trying these liquors at Dan’s GrillHampton and Dan’s Taste of Two Forks, mix them at home with these cocktail recipes.
Diplomático Aged Side Car
Here’s a twist on a cocktail traditionally made with cognac. Add to a cocktail shaker 2 ounces Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva, .75 ounces Cointreau and .75 ounces lemon juice. Shake with ice and strain into a chilled, half sugar-rimmed coupe. No garnish.
Casamigos Tequila Prickly Pear Margarita
Add cactus to your margarita. This recipe contains 1 1/2 parts Casamigos Blanco Tequila, 1 part fresh lime juice, 1/2 part orange liqueur, 1/2 part prickly pear puree and 1/2 part agave nectar.
Jäger Barrel
Who says Jägermeister is only for shots? Mix 2 parts Jäger with root beer.
Hendrick’s Corpse Reviver
Start with 1 part Hendrick’s Gin and add 1 part Cointreau, 1 part Lillet, 1 part lemon juice and a dash of absinthe.
Sailor Jerry Old Ironsides
Start with 2 parts of the maritine-inspired Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum. Mix with 4 parts fresh pineapple juice and top off with soda water.
Tito’s All Summer Long
This cocktail will will be Tito’s signature drink at GrillHampton: Tito’s Handmade Vodka and fresh mint-infused lemonade. Doesn’t that sound delicious?
Tito’s The Go To
Tito’s Handmade Vodka, elderflower liqueur, fresh lime juice and Ginger Beer are the ingredients in Tito’s signature drink for Taste of Two Forks.
Canti Prosecco Mimosa
Mixed this sparking Italian white wine, Canti Prosecco, with orange juice for a fabulous mimosa. If you’re feeling enterprising, put a twist on it with something more exotic, such as blood orange juice or tangerine juice. Use 1 ounce of juice for every 2 ounces of Prosecco.
