The Best Places to Pick Your Own Pumpkins in the Hamptons
The time honored tradition of family pumpkin-picking excursions each fall in preparation for Halloween lives on in the Hamptons. These three South Fork destinations offer U-pick pumpkin patches and more activities.
Hank’s Pumpkintown, 240 Montauk Highway, Water Mill, is a great place for the whole family and it’s bigger than ever. Enjoy apple and pumpkin picking and a market full of fresh vegetables, fruits, pies and other homemade goods. They also have gourds, Indian corn, mums, straw bales and baked goods for sale. Pumpkintown features a corn maze, super sweet corn, roasted corn and family fall fun. Pumpkin picking is open seven days a week, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.,through November 1. Fairview Farm, 19 Horsemill Lane, Bridgehampton, has pumpkin picking Thursday through Sunday each week through November 7, plus Columbus Day, Monday, October 12. Parking and admission are free. The Milk Pail Fresh Market & U-Pick, 50 Horsemill Lane, Water Mill, has pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colors. Pumpkins range from minis to more than 150 pounds. More than 60 varieties of pumpkins, squash and gourds are grown on site. Open from Labor Day weekend through October on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., The Milk Pail offers free admission and free parking at its U-Pick farm.
