Eastern Long Island will be put under a freeze watch from late Saturday night into Sunday morning and then again overnight Sunday into Monday as a cold front from the northwest enters the region.

Temperatures are expected to dip to the low 30s and upper 20s, and it is expected that sensitive vegetation will die. Houseplants on unheated porches and patios should be brought indoors before Saturday night, or better yet, before Friday night, when the temperature will dip into the 40s.

No precipitation is expected.
